Embryonic Stages

 

Stage 5

Both front and hind limb buds wider than they are long. Hindlimb buds are slightly bigger than forelimb.

 

Stage 6

Hindlimb more distinct than forelimb. Distal limb buds are paddle shaped.

Stage 7

Paddles wider than in previous stage. Medial digit condensation beginning to be visible.

Stage 8

Condensation of digit cartilages are visible with slight thinning of internal webbing but no regression.

Stage 9

Distal tips of digits freed of internal webbing. 4th digit noticeably larger.

Stage 10

Digital webbing receeded to half its length on digits. Slightly elongated medial digits.

Stage 11

Digital webbing has fully regressed. Pinching at distal tips eventually will form claws.

Stage 12

Further pinching at distal tips.

Stage 13

Pinching at distal tips has formed into claws.
