Stage 14
No obvious changes in neural morphology.
Jugal and Parietal: ossification continues.
Postorbital: A triangular bone situated behind the postfrontal and is in contact with the jugal; fusing with the latter bone. Ossification begins to be visible at stage 14.
Frontal: Ossification of the frontal bones begins, and eventually will fuse together to make up the anterior dorsal roofing of the skull.
Maxilla: Large surface bone connected to orbital, facial and premaxillary surfaces. The beginnings of ossification can be seen almost connecting with the jugal and ventrally extending towards what will be the nasal and prefrontal bones.
Premaxilla: Slender bone connected to the maxilla anteriorly and nasal bone anterior dorsally. First visible as a triangular shape above the beginnings of the dentary.
Palatine: ossification of the palatine bone, a large surface bone, triangular in shape here, begins forming. Expands towards the maxilla.
